Dubai crude futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange were generally higher for a second straight session, with buying spreading late in the session on narrower WTI losses and yen weakness against the dollar.
Dubai crude futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange were generally higher for a second straight session. The settlement price for the March 2027 contract (sixth contract) was ¥91,920, up ¥480 from the previous day, while other contract months rose ¥70-730 except for the October current contract, which fell ¥1,000.
Daytime trading opened slightly higher, following gains in New York crude oil futures (WTI) on the 8th amid concern over the risk of disruptions to oil supplies. Prices subsequently moved both higher and lower as trading was dominated by position adjustments ahead of the three-day weekend beginning tomorrow, but buying emerged toward the end of the session on narrower losses in WTI and yen weakness against the dollar in the foreign exchange market.
There were no trades in electricity, gasoline, LNG or Osaka Exchange CME Crude Oil and other index futures.
