Nisshin Seifun Group's consolidated results for the April–September 2026 period, announced on 28 October, showed net profit up 76% year on year to ¥18.1 billion. The main factor was the rebound from an impairment loss recognized in its yeast business in India. The sale of cross-shareholdings also reportedly boosted profit.
Revenue rose 2% from the previous fiscal year to ¥441.7 billion, while operating profit reportedly increased slightly to approximately ¥22.5 billion. Increased supply from a new plant in the United States and the weaker yen are seen as having offset higher costs for packaging materials and other items. The company had initially estimated the impact of the situation in the Middle East on its current fiscal year's outlook at ¥1.5 billion, and believes it is likely to remain at that level.
On the same day, Nisshin Seifun Group raised its revenue forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, indicating that it expects revenue to increase approximately 4% from the previous fiscal year to ¥900.0 billion. It revised its exchange-rate assumptions toward a weaker yen and reflected the surge in wheat prices. The company expects net profit to rise 26% to ¥41.0 billion.
The company also announced on the same day a share buyback of up to ¥20 billion. It will purchase up to 14 million shares, equivalent to 5% of the total number of shares issued, during the period from 2 November to 23 June 2027.
