Matsuya Ginza has launched new GINZA FROZEN GOURMET products. Alongside lasagna and rice-flour crêpes, it is also offering collaboration sets with Kateigaho.
Matsuya Ginza launched new products under its own frozen food brand, GINZA FROZEN GOURMET, on 1 October. The lineup centers on lasagna and rice-flour crêpes made by the group’s Italian restaurant, Enoteca Pinchiorri Nagoya, and will be sold at Matsuya Ginza’s frozen food section and 16 supermarkets, mainly Meidi-ya stores. Sales currently total ¥100 million, and the company plans to expand the number of stores carrying the products to 20 by next spring and eventually to 30. The sales target for the new products is ¥300 million in 3 years.
Enoteca Pinchiorri Nagoya is an Italian restaurant whose main location is in Florence. The 2 products launched this time were completed through discussions between the restaurant’s chefs and those at the main location. An individual involved said that there is a limit to the volume of frozen products and that the company intends to make further proposals and build on them going forward.
Two collaboration sets with the magazine Kateigaho were also launched. The sets, developed with the participation of renowned establishments, are the Ginbura Course-style Set and the Ginbura Aperitivo Set. A presentation held on 30 September outlined plans to expand frozen food sales going forward.
