The 15th Koshigaya Lake Town Running will be held on 3 November 2026, with a half marathon newly added. The event will feature a variety of races on a flat course around the lake, including a 5 km race, a family run and an ekiden relay for teams of 4.
The 15th Koshigaya Lake Town Running has been announced and is scheduled for 3 November 2026 (Tuesday, public holiday), with the event venue planned to be the area around the shores of Koshigaya Lake Town. The event will be organized by the Koshigaya Lake Town Running Executive Committee, whose participating organizations include the Koshigaya Junior Chamber, the youth division of the Koshigaya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Koshigaya City Tourism Association and Victoria, part of the Xebio Group.
A half marathon will be added to the event for the first time. The course will primarily be flat, using the shores of the Osagami Regulating Reservoir and surrounding promenades and roads. It is described as suitable both for runners seeking a record and for first-time participants.
Other events include a 5 km race for participants aged junior-high-school age and older, a family run for parents and children, and an ekiden relay in which teams of 4 pass a sash. Multiple events will be available to suit different ages and participation styles. Approximately 3,000 people took part in the 14th event in 2025, and more than 6,000 visitors are expected this year as the event expands as an initiative aimed at revitalizing the local community.
Applications can be submitted online or at stores. The early-entry discount period runs through 16 August 2026, with the early-entry fee for the half marathon set at ¥6,000 and the regular fee at ¥6,500. The announced entry limits are 1,000 participants for the half marathon, 1,000 for the 5 km, 600 teams for the family event, and 100 teams for the general division and 80 teams for the elementary-school division of the ekiden relay.
