The option of a Pro Market listing is attracting attention, with SMEs across Japan considering listings while retaining ownership. New TPM listings and the total number of listed companies are increasing, accelerating the expansion of regional markets.
The number of small and medium-sized companies using TOKYO PRO Market (TPM), which enables them to go public while retaining ownership, is currently increasing. A path to listing is opening up for regional SMEs, and new regional markets are being established one after another.
As of the end of August 2026, 187 companies were listed on TPM. From January through August of the same year, there were 33 new listings, substantially exceeding the 15 on the Growth Market. During this period, Nihon M&A Center supported 9 TPM listings and held a leading position among J-Advisers based on its track record.
Fukuoka Stock Exchange’s Fukuoka PRO Market (FPM) was established in 2024, and Sapporo Securities Exchange’s SPFM was established in 2026, supporting the ongoing expansion of Pro Markets in regional areas. Reported benefits of listing include stronger governance, improved brand strength and greater hiring capability.
For companies considering listing, support such as listing-potential assessments and free consultations is available. The support structure covering all 47 prefectures is highlighted as a distinguishing feature.
