日本色材工業研究所 has revised its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the fiscal year ending February 2027 downward from the previous forecast of ¥275 million to ¥116 million, projecting a 23.2% decline. Consolidated ordinary income/loss for the first half has also been revised downward from the previous forecast of a ¥33 million profit to a ¥14 million loss.
The reasons for the revision include an expected decline in domestic and overseas shipments, which is expected to bring net sales below the previous forecast, although demand in the cosmetics industry is viewed as firm amid persistently elevated geopolitical risks stemming from the situation in the Middle East. The impact of inflation, particularly on petroleum-derived products, is also putting pressure on earnings through higher costs. In addition, at the Komoro Plant, which began operations in September 2026, expenses are currently being recognized ahead of revenue.
