日本抵抗器製作所 downwardly revised its consolidated ordinary income/loss forecast for the first half of fiscal 2026 from a previously forecast profit to a loss. The full-year earnings forecast remains a profit.
In an announcement after the market close on 13 August, 日本抵抗器製作所 downwardly revised its consolidated ordinary income/loss forecast for the first half of fiscal 2026, January-June, from the previously forecast profit of ¥30 million to a loss of ¥48 million. The company reported a loss of ¥172 million in the same period of the previous year.
The full-year ordinary income/loss forecast remains unchanged at the previously forecast profit of ¥100 million. As a result, full-year net income is now expected to turn to a loss.
The company said the revision reflects sales of electronic equipment for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and sensor-related products, with orders showing signs of recovery as customers' inventory adjustments improve. However, elevated resource and energy prices and higher costs resulting from inflation are expected to weigh on earnings.
The earnings summary for the current fiscal year newly presents figures for revenue and each profit and loss measure, indicating that revenue is expected to increase slightly year on year, while ordinary income and net income are expected to turn to losses.
