Nippon Ichi Software revised its ordinary profit forecast upward, projecting a profit for both the first half and the full year. Specifically, it now expects ordinary profit of ¥848 million for the first half and ¥906 million for the full year.
Nippon Ichi Software announced earnings revisions after the market close on 28 August. It revised its consolidated ordinary income (loss) forecast for the cumulative second quarter (April-September) upward from the previous forecast of a ¥274 million profit to a ¥848 million profit. The company had recorded a loss in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Following strong first-half performance, the company also revised its full-year consolidated ordinary income (loss) forecast upward, from the previous forecast of a ¥449 million profit to a ¥906 million profit. The company had recorded a loss in the previous fiscal year, but is now expected to return to profitability.
In the current first-half revision, revenue was raised from ¥2,789 million to ¥3,374 million, operating profit from ¥193 million to ¥729 million, ordinary profit from ¥274 million to ¥848 million, and net income from ¥205 million to ¥685 million. Revised earnings per share were also increased from ¥40.5 to ¥135.4.
The disclosed materials dated the same day cite steady sales of the new title 『ほの暮しの庭』 in the domestic market as one of the reasons for the revision. As uncertainty remains in the outlook for future performance, the company’s disclosures will continue to be monitored.
