Sanden will establish a production site for automotive air-conditioning systems in Shiga Prefecture and begin operations in spring 2027. The company plans to strengthen its supply network for automakers in western Japan and secure new orders.
The Nikkei article reports that Sanden announced plans to establish a production site for automotive air-conditioning systems, or HVAC, in Shiga Prefecture. The new site is scheduled to begin operations in spring 2027.
The new line will assemble HVAC systems that control in-vehicle temperature and airflow, establish a supply network for automakers in the Kinki region and western Japan, and shorten delivery times.
The company plans to automate assembly and inspection, reducing peak staffing to approximately half its current level based on the same production volume. The automation rate is expected to be approximately 50%.
The company aims to strengthen its supply chain by distributing its sites.
