Sysmex raised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, increasing its net sales and operating profit forecasts on strong sales of hematology instruments in the Americas and a weaker yen. Its share price surged to a year-to-date high.
Sysmex, which provides laboratory testing instruments and reagents, raised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 after the close on 7 July. The move triggered a sharp rise in its share price, which was bought up to around ¥1,990 in trading on 10 August. The stock posted a substantial gain from the previous Friday's close and moved to a new year-to-date high.
Under the new forecast, net sales were raised from Percy ¥535 billion to ¥545 billion, representing a 9.0% increase from the previous fiscal year, while operating profit was raised from ¥58 billion to ¥60 billion, a 15.8% increase. The revision reportedly reflects strong sales of hematology instruments in the Americas and exchange rates that have remained weaker than assumed.
First-quarter results were net sales of ¥130.674 billion, up 23.6% year on year, and operating profit of ¥14.821 billion, up 39.5%. Based on these results, the company revised its full-year profit outlook.
The stock closed at ¥1,980, up ¥328.5 from the previous Friday's close. Related news has also reported market trends and movements in other stocks since that day.
