アイディオット has added a distribution center network optimization function to CLO Compass, enabling users to simulate changes in ton-kilometers for any combination of sites. Users can compare scenarios such as consolidating, closing or establishing distribution centers and quantitatively assess their impact on transport distances and volumes.
A distribution center network optimization function has been released for CLO Compass, a decision-support system for chief logistics officers. The new function simulates changes in ton-kilometers for any combination of distribution centers, enabling users to assess the impact on the logistics network by comparing scenarios such as consolidating, closing or establishing sites.
Unlike the existing simplified distribution center simulation, the new function allows combinations of multiple sites to be evaluated as a single scenario. It quantitatively calculates changes in outbound volumes at each site and changes in transport volumes. Volumes from closed sites are reallocated to other sites, allowing users to assess the impact on overall logistics operations.
Potential use cases include comparing distribution center consolidation scenarios, making investment decisions on new sites, applying the analysis to business continuity planning (BCP) and environmental planning, and evaluating risks. This enables users to assess specific options for which sites to retain and how to combine them.
Future plans include expanding functions for multifaceted evaluations using optimized distribution center networks, including cost simulations. As a logistics DX service, CLO Compass will strengthen data visualization and analysis, automated report generation, and data integration with existing systems.
