Aranmare Akita Shonai of the Daido Life SV League held a regional revitalisation event. The event included an explanation of the hometown change to Akita and Katagami cities, the team-name change and the establishment of a new company, while a speech outlined a policy of making Japan the centre of the world.
The event “Heat the Heart UP. 心の熱を上げていけ。” was held at Hotel Iris in Akita to promote regional revitalisation, with approximately 50 local small and medium-sized businesses and individual operators attending.
Aranmare announced that, from the 2026–27 season, its hometown would change from Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, to Akita and Katagami cities, to maintain its SV League licence and comply with the new licensing standards. The team name changed from “Aranmare Akita Shonai” to “Aranmare Akita Shonai,” and a new company, “Aranmare Co., Ltd.,” was established to assume the women’s volleyball business.
SV League Chairman Taiga Masaaki (大河 正明) gave a speech on the theme of “branding sports organisations,” discussing the industrial perspective of Japanese volleyball and future growth strategies, and expressing his determination to create the centre of world volleyball in Japan.
The latter half of the event included a quiz on the players’ contributions to the community and local Akita cuisine, followed by attendance at the season’s opening match against Kurobe Aqua Fairies Toyama. Although the team lost 0-3, its determined performance drew applause from those attending.
