No figures were disclosed at the web briefing held on 5 November. The groups reported that current estimates point to annual CO2 reductions of approximately 550 tonnes and cost savings on the order of several hundred million yen. They indicated a policy of further expanding the joint operation of mainline transport on routes where operating conditions, including postal delivery lead times, are suitable.
As a specific example of facility sharing, the groups cited the relocation of JP Logistics' Hyuga Branch into the Nobeoka Sales Office of 九州西濃運輸, creating a shared facility, and indicated that they would continue promoting facility sharing, particularly in regional areas. The Seino Group is already recruiting and training foreign drivers, and plans call for recruitment through the Japan Post Group and support through Seino Staff Service.
