Production I.G will jointly produce a new “Space Battleship Yamato” feature anime with Khara. Anno Hideaki (庵野秀明) will serve as chief producer and director, Izubuchi Yutaka (出渕裕) as co-director, and Ishikawa Mitsuhisa (石川光久) of IG Port is also listed among the planners.
Production I.G, a subsidiary of IG Port, has announced that it will jointly produce the theatrical feature animation “Space Battleship Yamato √2199 (Route 2199)” with Khara. Details, including the timing of its release, are scheduled to be announced on the official website.
As for the production team, Anno Hideaki (庵野秀明) will serve as chief producer and director, while Izubuchi Yutaka (出渕裕) will serve as co-director. Ishikawa Mitsuhisa (石川光久), president and representative director of IG Port, is also listed among the planners.
Production will be jointly handled by Production I.G and Studio Khara, while production management will be handled by Shin Office Academy.
Regarding Anno Hideaki (庵野秀明)'s appointment as a director, it was subsequently disclosed that IG Port announced its executive appointments in July 2025 and that he took office effective 21 August of that year.
