SLD Entertainment announced plans to expand its collaboration cafés to 17 content offerings. Although the second-quarter results showed lower revenue and a net loss, the company aims to restore earnings by strengthening the profitability of existing stores and attracting more customers.
In its earnings presentation for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027, SLD Entertainment announced plans to expand its collaboration café business from its current structure to 17 content offerings. The company aims to stabilize its business through its 2 segments, food and beverage services and content planning services, by strengthening the earnings base of existing stores and attracting new customers. The earnings summary showed revenue of ¥1.721 billion, down 7.5% year on year, and operating profit of ¥33 million, down 63.1%. As a result, the company recorded a net loss of ¥15 million.
By segment, revenue from food and beverage services was ¥1.236 billion, down 4.7% from the previous period, while revenue from content planning services was ¥485 million, down 14.0%. Both segments declined, affected by unfavorable weather, higher food ingredient prices and weak customer traffic for limited-time collaborations. Going forward, the company aims to stabilize collaboration café profitability through productivity improvements using DX, reductions in utility costs, price reviews and the use of accumulated data.
