ギフトHD reported its third-quarter results, with cumulative operating profit up sharply by 56.5% year on year, but the slowdown in growth on a quarterly basis spread the view that the positives had been fully priced in.
ギフトホールディングス reported its third-quarter results, with cumulative operating profit reaching ¥3.72 billion, a sharp 56.5% increase from the same period of the previous year. It also left its full-year operating profit target unchanged at ¥5 billion.
The company announced that it would raise its planned final dividend from ¥6.5 to ¥8, bringing the annual dividend to ¥14.5. At the same time, quarterly operating profit growth has been slowing, leading some to view the results as lacking in surprise.
The share price fell sharply, and the view that the positives had been fully priced in prevailed after buying ran its course. While the market recognized the strength of the results, trading was driven mainly by the limited surprise in the announcement.
Some have also pointed to the possibility that the slowdown in quarterly growth will continue, even as cumulative results remain strong.
