Hello Storage, one of Japan's largest rental storage brands operated by Arealink Co.,Ltd., ranked No. 1 in the September 2026 market survey by total number of listed indoor and outdoor properties and by number of listed outdoor properties. The company also outlined its future plans.
According to the announcement, Hello Storage ranked No. 1 in both the "total number of listed indoor and outdoor properties" and the "number of listed outdoor properties." This follows its ranking in the 2022 survey and was based on a comparison and verification of cumulative data from desk research covering 9 major companies.
The company operates storage facilities in all 47 prefectures of Japan, with 3,202 properties and 138,050 units in operation as of September 2026. It is responding to demand through a combination of outdoor and indoor facilities, offering a range of formats including buildings and containers.
The initiative is supported by improved site-selection efficiency based on analysis of many years of operating data and a partner programme that has been actively promoted since April 2024. Through both company-operated openings and the partner programme, the company aims to expand its number of properties.
Going forward, the company plans to continue its nationwide expansion by using data analysis and aims to reach a total of 200,000 units by the end of 2029. In addition to expanding its sites, it will work to provide services that meet customer needs and improve convenience.
