第一稀元素化学工業 raised its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the current fiscal year from ¥2.0 billion to ¥3.3 billion after the market close on 30 October. It also raised its first-half ordinary profit forecast from ¥900 million to ¥2.62 billion, and now expects profit growth through the fiscal year-end.
第一稀元素化学工業 announced earnings revisions after the market close on 30 October, raising its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the fiscal year ending March 2027 from ¥2.0 billion to ¥3.3 billion. Ordinary profit was ¥3.25 billion in the previous fiscal year. As a result, full-year profit is now expected to increase 1.4% year on year.
At the same time, the company sharply raised its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the April-September period from ¥900 million to ¥2.62 billion, with the growth rate expected to expand from 2.5 times to 7.2 times. The company cited higher sales volumes in the automotive exhaust-gas purification catalyst business, raw-material price revisions, progress on new projects amid geopolitical risks and the weaker yen.
For the second half, the company maintained its upwardly revised sales forecast, reflecting selling-price revisions in response to higher raw-material prices and changes to its assumed exchange rate. However, it also expects customer demand and transaction volumes to decline as raw-material prices rise, and, taking into account factors supporting an improvement in non-operating income and expenses, expects to maintain its revised overall forecast.
Together with the first-half earnings revision, the revised full-year figures are sales of ¥20,930 billion, operating profit of ¥2,600 billion, ordinary profit of ¥2,620 billion, net profit of ¥1,860 billion and revised earnings per share of ¥77.
