One-day-only window art will be illuminated today at Washington Hotel in Sakuragicho, Yokohama. The light art decorating the Minato Mirai-facing exterior wall and an Instagram photo contest will be held at the same time.
Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, will illuminate window art created with guest-room lighting today, 3 November (Tuesday, public holiday). The lights will be on from evening until around 20:00, creating light art on the hotel's Minato Mirai-facing exterior wall.
The window art project began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and is being held for the 7th time this year. It is intended as a surprise for people visiting the Minato Mirai area, while this year's design will be revealed on the day. The art can be viewed from Kishamichi near Sakuragicho Station, the Yokohama City Hall Waterside Terrace, Unga Park and other locations. Last year's work featured a heart motif.
The Instagram photo contest “#EveryoneSmile Campaign” will be held at the same time. Entrants must follow the hotel's official account, photograph the window art and post it with “#EveryoneSmile.” The entry period runs from the evening of 3 November through 23:59 on 10 November, with 8 winners in total.
As prizes for the winning entries, 2 recipients of the “#EveryoneSmile Award” will receive pair hotel-stay vouchers, and their entries will be displayed in the lobby. 6 recipients of the “#Smile Award” will receive pair YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN tickets, and their entries will be featured on the hotel's official account. Entries will be selected publicly, and the event venue is the Minato Mirai-facing exterior wall of Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel.
