TMN will add East Japan Railway Company’s new code-based payment service “teppay” to the services handled by TMN Gateway from 20 October 2026, accelerating its rollout at merchants nationwide. This is expected to promote the real-world adoption of “teppay” and its everyday use.
TMN announced that its TMN payment gateway service will begin handling “teppay,” a new code-based payment service provided by East Japan Railway Company. The service will launch on 20 October 2026 and will be added to the lineup supported by TMN Gateway.
TMN is already connected to more than approximately 1.24 million payment terminals installed at retail stores nationwide. This addition will enable merchants to introduce “teppay” while keeping implementation costs and the burden on operating sites down. It will also increase the likelihood that consumers can use the service regularly at stores in their local areas.
“teppay” is said to be a new code-based payment service available through the Mobile Suica and Mobile PASMO apps provided by East Japan Railway Company. The Mobile PASMO service is scheduled to launch in spring 2027.
