A Gakken Holdings group company has acquired all shares of the operating company for Elegario Kobe, a high-value-added paid senior housing facility in Kobe. The acquisition was completed as of 30 September 2026, and the operating company's name is scheduled to be changed to Elegario in the future.
The Gakken Group is promoting the development of high-value-added facilities and strategic M&A under its medium-term management plan, Gakken2027, with a focus on growth in the healthcare and welfare fields. The addition of this company to the group is intended to strengthen an operating model that combines high-quality living environments with high-quality care as part of the group's initiatives in the healthcare and welfare segment.
Elegario Kobe is located near Kobe Port Tower, combining resort-like surroundings with convenient access to the city centre. It has 121 general-purpose units and 32 nursing-care units, as well as extensive shared facilities including a panoramic sky lounge and a large communal bath.
The new structure will begin on 1 October 2026, and the company name is scheduled to change to Elegario Co., Ltd. The relevant operating company is Yu Can Life Partner Co., Ltd. (current name). Its Representative Director and Chairman is Yamamoto Norio (山本 教雄), and its Representative Director and President is Matsuda Yoshio (松田 嘉雄).
Medical Care Service Co., Ltd. is a care services provider originating in Saitama that operates care services nationwide, with a focus on dementia care. In 2026, it also established a structure to strengthen home-care support.
Through this addition to the group, the Gakken Group says it will accumulate expertise in operating high-value-added facilities and support future business expansion and business succession.
