Daishi Hokuetsu Financial Group reported consolidated net income of ¥42.1 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2026, achieving its ¥40 billion target for the final year of its medium-term management plan. Net income increased by ¥12.7 billion, or 43.4%, year on year, while the bank's standalone net income reached ¥38.5 billion, a record high since the company's establishment. Loans outstanding were ¥5.9 trillion and deposits were ¥8.7 trillion, demonstrating a stable earnings base supported by an approximately 50% market share in Niigata Prefecture.
In the first quarter (April-June 2026), consolidated net income rose 38.3% year on year to ¥17.6 billion. Progress against the full-year forecast of ¥53 billion was described as steady and was one of the factors behind the upward revision. The Bank of Japan's policy rate hike was cited as a contributing factor, and the company said it may revise its earnings forecast depending on future interest rate trends.
The company indicated that it plans to strengthen shareholder returns and expects to pay an annual dividend of ¥80. The assumed payout ratio is approximately 40%, with a generally progressive dividend policy to be adopted. The management integration with Gunma Bank is scheduled for April 2027, and the new group will adopt "Creating the future of the region with two wings" as its mission.
The group had assumed a net income target of approximately ¥140 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2030 following the integration. However, combined results for the previous fiscal year were approximately ¥100 billion, exceeding expectations, and the company indicated that there is potential for an upside. The new group will promote non-financial businesses in the region, the use of AI and the establishment of a regional revitalization fund, with the aim of becoming an integrated producer of the regional economic sphere.
