Results and earnings revisions for CIJ, Toyota Tsusho, JTEKT, Craftia, エフアンドエム, Amano and Ibiden were reported as catalysts for the sharp afternoon declines and rallies, with the latest earnings trends at each company disclosed in succession.
CIJ reported consolidated net income of ¥420 million for 1Q of FY6/27, down 2.9% year on year. Orders in the information and communications and public sectors remained firm, but income taxes and other taxes increased due to a higher estimated effective tax rate, resulting in lower net income. Revenue increased, also reflecting the earnings contribution of Infotech Solution, which became a consolidated subsidiary in the previous fiscal year.
Toyota Tsusho reported consolidated IFRS net income of ¥262 billion for the first half of FY3/27, up 40.2% year on year. Higher resource market prices boosted profit in its circular economy business, while stronger memory-related market conditions and increased handling of automotive electronics also contributed. Its full-year net income forecast was left unchanged at ¥430 billion.
JTEKT reported consolidated business profit of ¥50.68 billion for the first half of FY3/27, up 52.8% year on year, and operating profit of ¥36.05 billion, up 38.4%. It revised its full-year business profit forecast upward from ¥90 billion to ¥95 billion, while leaving other items unchanged after reflecting changes to its foreign exchange assumptions and a loss on the transfer of its European automotive business.
Craftia reported consolidated net income of ¥21.34 billion for the first half of FY3/27, up 42.9% year on year, as large projects progressed against the backdrop of a record-high order backlog. It also revised its interim dividend for FY3/26 up to ¥120 per share and its year-end dividend to ¥120, raising the annual dividend to ¥240.
