The Giants are overhauling their farm leadership under the new Matsui regime. It has been learned that Aida Yushi (会田有志) will become second-team manager and Takagi Yasunari (高木康成) will become third-team manager.
The Giants recently announced farm personnel changes accompanying the new regime at the Matsui Giants. Ishii Takuro (石井琢朗), formerly the second-team manager, will change to itinerant batting coach; Aida Yushi (会田有志) will change from third-team manager to second-team manager; and Takagi Yasunari (高木康成), who had overseen the farm development division, will change to third-team manager. This will result in a complete renewal of the personnel structure responsible for the farm teams.
Aida Yushi (会田有志), a graduate of Sano Nihon University High School and Chuo University, joined the Giants in the seventh round of the 2005 university and industrial league draft. His father, Teruo (照夫), formerly of the Yakult Swallows, had a career that included becoming the first father and son to pitch in the top team. During his playing career, Aida recorded 3 wins in total with a distinctive sidearm delivery and retired in 2009. After retiring, he served as a training coach and in other roles, gaining coaching experience.
Takagi Yasunari (高木康成), a left-handed pitcher from Shizuoka High School, joined Kintetsu as the second pick in the 1999 draft. He made 258 appearances in total as a reliever for Kintetsu, Orix and the Giants before retiring after the 2014 season. Since then, he has held various positions, including serving as sub-manager and manager liaison for the Giants' first- and second-team clubs and as assistant to the general manager of the Baseball Operations Division. He is expected to play a central role in supplying talent to the farm teams and developing young players.
