The Japan Pachinko Machine Manufacturers Association has published on its official website new categories that display pachinko machine performance and ease of play in 4 levels. Distribution of logos for pachinko halls and operating guidelines has also begun, and the system is scheduled to apply not only to new models but also to models already on sale.
The Japan Pachinko Machine Manufacturers Association has published through a dedicated website a new category system classifying pachinko machine payout performance and ease of play into 4 levels, from “Lv.1 Super Light” to “Lv.4 High.” The aim is to make the characteristics of each model easier to understand at a glance.
The dedicated website provides category logo data and operating guidelines, allowing pachinko halls to use downloaded logos in in-store information displays. A category search system and an archive list of past models have also been provided, enabling users to check the categories of models introduced from November onward as well as those previously sold.
A practical feature of the new system is that category displays can be incorporated into point-of-purchase materials and other items when explaining the different specifications of each model, providing players with information to help them choose a machine. This is expected to improve consistency in in-store displays.
The Japan Pachinko Machine Manufacturers Association said that by making the performance of amusement machines more visible, it will promote measures addressing gambling addiction and the risk of misunderstanding specifications, with the aim of creating a safer and more transparent gaming environment. The publication date is 28 September 2026.
