On 22 September, Mitsui Knowledge Industry conducted a demonstration of a digital match-viewing experience at a Japan cricket team match at Sano City International Cricket Ground. It trialled a viewing-support app for beginners to assess the potential to expand the experience from “watching” to “participating”.
Mitsui Knowledge Industry conducted a demonstration trial of the beginner-oriented viewing-support web app “InoCri-Lens (provisional)” at a Japan cricket team match. Without making prior announcements at the venue, it provided information about the app via QR code to test a mechanism for encouraging attendees to use it.
The demonstration attracted 95 users, 52 of whom participated by posting comments or using cheering reactions. A total of 155 general comments and 371 cheering reactions were submitted, while screen views reached 574 and the number of sessions reached 166.
Mitsui Knowledge Industry said it would improve the app based on the usage data and user feedback from this trial. In collaboration with the Japan Cricket Association, it aims to create new connections with fans through the use of AI and data, promote the sport’s adoption and development in Japan, and pursue co-creation with local communities, companies and educational institutions.
