西原商事ホールディングス has launched the D to D Project in collaboration with Kashima Antlers and Nippon Paper Crecia Co., Ltd., recycling used corrugated cardboard into e-commerce shipping boxes. The project will establish a circular system spanning collection, recycling and use as shipping boxes.
西原商事ホールディングス will centrally collect and ship used corrugated cardboard discarded by Kashima Antlers and participating companies. Nippon Paper Crecia Co., Ltd. will recycle it into corrugated containerboard through group companies, and some of the recycled containerboard will be used as shipping boxes for the club’s official online store.
The project aims to address the inefficiencies and CO2 emissions associated with the current practice of collecting materials separately from each business location. It will establish and operate a circular system linking collection, recycling and use among the participating companies.
The corrugated cardboard recycled into shipping boxes is expected to provide fans and supporters with a familiar way to experience resource circulation. Going forward, the participating companies will continue working together to develop and expand the collection scheme and promote locally rooted resource circulation.
