NEW COSMOS ELECTRIC CO.,LTD. will conduct a tsunami evacuation drill at its Yodogawa Plant. Participants are to gather at 13:50 on 25 November 2026; the drill will be held in light rain, and the venue is the designated tsunami evacuation building within the Yodogawa Plant. The drill is intended for local residents and the company's employees, who will experience the practical procedures for evacuation guidance and moving to the evacuation location on the sixth floor.
After opening in January 2025, the plant applied to Osaka City for designation as a tsunami evacuation building because there are few such buildings in the surrounding area. The drill aims to verify actual evacuation routes and accommodation capacity and establish a system for accepting residents quickly and safely in the event of a disaster. This is the second drill, following last year, and further drills are planned on a regular basis.
The drill is hosted by NEW COSMOS ELECTRIC CO.,LTD., with ALSOK Corporation providing cooperation. The program includes guidance to the tsunami evacuation building, evacuation to the evacuation location on the sixth floor, an explanation of safety measures through a review, and a post-drill debriefing.
