アスター, a motor manufacturer in Yokote, has entered into a capital and business alliance with Tokyo AI startup 燈, with an investment of several billion yen and participation in management. The companies plan to strengthen their AI-enabled production operations and expand the business.
燈 provides AI-powered operational efficiency services for construction and manufacturing sites and is developing “physical AI,” which equips robots with AI so that they can make decisions and move autonomously. アスター’s motors are expanding into overseas markets and have been adopted in the United States for use in drones.
アスター currently produces approximately 20,000 of its core motors annually. Following the capital and business alliance, it will expand its factory to meet growing demand for drone motors. The company plans to establish annual production capacity of 100,000 units next fiscal year and achieve sales of ¥10 billion in fiscal 2028.
