KOA announced its first-half results, reporting operating profit of ¥3.74 billion, up 2.9 times year on year, and sharply raised its full-year forecast to ¥8.31 billion. Growing demand for AI-related equipment, primarily in China, contributed to the results.
KOA announced its first-half results late last week, reporting operating profit of ¥3.74 billion, or 2.9 times the year-earlier level. This was well above its previous operating profit forecast of ¥2.54 billion. The stock posted a sharp rebound in the market.
The full-year earnings forecast was raised from ¥5.36 billion to ¥8.31 billion, implying approximately 2.3 times the previous fiscal year's result. The increase in demand for AI-related equipment was cited as a factor behind the growth in sales.
The dividend was also revised, with the annual dividend raised from the previous plan of ¥63 to ¥78. Demand is expected to remain firm from the fiscal year ending March onward.
Market expectations are growing that earnings will improve against a backdrop of expanding demand for AI-related equipment, and KOA's share price remains in a rebound phase.
