German electrical engineering group Siemens will build a new plant in Pendergrass, Jackson County, Georgia, to expand its U.S. power infrastructure manufacturing capacity. The investment will exceed $185 million, and the site will produce low-voltage power infrastructure products and distribution equipment for the data center market.
The new plant will cover approximately 550,000 square feet (approximately 51,000 square meters), with construction scheduled to begin in November 2026. According to the state of Georgia, more than 1,400 jobs are expected to be created over the next 3 years, with hiring for engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing positions expected to begin in 2027.
Siemens will also invest $19 million in Grand Prairie, Texas, to build a new testing and logistics facility supporting an existing switchgear plant. The investment is part of the company's efforts to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing footprint amid rising demand related to data centers, driven by the spread of AI and the expansion of cloud services.
