Google officially announced the Japanese launch date for XREAL AURA, a wired intelligent eyewear device powered by Android XR. The product is scheduled to launch in the US, Canada, South Korea and Japan in mid-November 2026, with reservations opening in those markets on the same day.
The official price is $1,099 in the US and ¥229,800 including tax in Japan. Shipping is scheduled to begin on a rolling basis from mid-November 2026. An early reservation programme has been running in Japan since June 2026.
XREAL AURA consists of glasses weighing 95g or less, connected by wire to a portable computing pack with a built-in battery. The transparent lenses allow users to see the real world while projecting a virtual screen across a wide 70-degree field of view.
Android XR enables access to Google Play Store apps as well as more than 150 apps developed specifically for Android XR. The device also integrates the Gemini AI assistant and supports mirroring a PC display via a USB-C cable.
