Murata Manufacturing announced that it has adopted Proship’s SaaS-based solution “ProPlus+” to comply with the new lease accounting standards, which will become mandatory from April 2027. Murata plans to complete its system preparations and rehearsals during fiscal 2026 in preparation for the transition in April 2027.
A key feature of the new standards is that all lease transactions, including operating leases, will be recognized on the balance sheet as right-of-use assets and lease liabilities. This is an urgent issue for companies because of its potentially significant impact on financial metrics.
Murata reportedly selected ProPlus+ because of its high compatibility with the existing ProPlus fixed asset system, its extensive implementation track record, and its flexible integration with accounting systems. Proship has implementations at more than 100 companies in connection with IFRS 16, and the company’s expertise reportedly contributed to the selection.
With approximately one year remaining until mandatory application, Proship has indicated that it aims to reach cumulative adoption by 1,100 companies ahead of the April 2027 deadline. It plans to reduce the burden on accounting departments by using the latest technologies, including automating contract identification and data entry.
The article also states that, as of July 2026, adoption had reached 366 companies and the planned donation amount had reached ¥3,660,000.
