Korean laser processing equipment maker HK has made its first entry into TSMC's Taiwan supply chain and completed equipment deliveries to 3 local Tier 1 vendors. This has demonstrated its track record in the global semiconductor value chain.
HK has entered TSMC's Taiwan supply chain for the first time and successfully completed deliveries of laser processing equipment to 3 local Tier 1 vendors. The customers were 2 semiconductor inspection equipment companies and 1 fab construction-related company.
HK said that by delivering equipment to companies belonging to TSMC's supply chain, rather than to companies that conduct direct transactions with TSMC, it has expanded its business base within the global semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
This achievement is considered significant as a track record in Taiwan's market, where intense competition continues among global equipment manufacturers from the United States, Japan and elsewhere.
TSMC is increasing investment in advanced processes and packaging equipment to meet growth in the AI industry and has decided to make an additional investment of approximately KRW 42 trillion. Cumulative investment is expected to approach approximately KRW 150 trillion.
