Maeda Kosen acquired 名古屋油化, which manufactures automotive sound-absorbing materials, and made it a wholly owned subsidiary. The companies will combine their technologies to develop new products.
Maeda Kosen announced on the 4th that it had acquired 名古屋油化, completed the share transfer on the same day and made the company a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition is intended to strengthen its automotive components business.
Established in 1958, 名古屋油化 specializes in manufacturing sound-absorbing materials used as engine-compartment noise insulation. Its strengths include resin compounding and coating technologies for nonwoven fabrics. Sales for the fiscal year ended June 2026 were approximately ¥1.1 billion.
Maeda Kosen manufactures sound-absorbing materials as part of its nonwoven fabrics business and plans to develop new products by combining the technologies of the two companies. It will capitalize on the different properties of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins.
