CIC Japan Construction Information Center announced that it has launched a contract video production service for occupational health and safety in the construction industry. The videos use in-house materials such as industrial accident reports, near-miss reports and site photographs to provide safety training materials that follow the sequence from the circumstances and causes of an incident through measures to prevent recurrence.
The main features include incident reenactments, support for confirmation quizzes, low cost and quick delivery, and flexible delivery formats such as web distribution, video-data delivery and DVDs. AI technology can be used to visualize the moments of accidents that are difficult to recreate with live-action footage, while checks of trainees’ understanding can also be completed within the training materials.
In connection with the addition in July 2026 of the Voluntary Declaration System for Companies that Value Construction Skilled Workers as an item eligible for additional points in the Construction Management Evaluation System, the company says that strengthening training systems may help improve scores. Following an inquiry to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, CIC received a response that the service qualifies as an initiative related to its own occupational health and safety efforts. CIC explains that the service may also be used to support efforts to win public works contracts.
The service production workflow consists of 5 steps. Subject to the execution of an NDA, the parties will discuss in advance how materials will be handled and the scope of generative AI use, and prepare estimates based on factors such as the number of cases, video length and the condition of the materials.
