People Trees, ワークステーション and Seta Engineering have entered into a partnership agreement and will begin providing an integrated HR solution that makes equal use of highly skilled foreign talent, including Japanese and Vietnamese personnel.
People Trees GK, which provides HR consulting and organizational development services, announced that it had entered into a partnership agreement with ワークステーション and Seta Engineering, both of which have experience in employing foreign talent. The partnership will enable the companies to provide strategic HR initiatives that treat highly skilled foreign talent as members of the team alongside Japanese employees, offering integrated support from recruitment through retention and improved engagement.
The partnership is being formed against a backdrop of increasingly severe labor shortages in Japan, with future shortages expected to be particularly pronounced in IT and technical fields. This has created a need to shift toward a strategy of recruiting the best talent for each set of job requirements from around the world. Mid-career recruitment of highly skilled foreign talent already living in Japan is effective in securing immediately productive employees, but the companies say that increased job mobility and opaque evaluation systems remain challenges.
A feature of the new partnership is its focus on initiatives to improve engagement without distinguishing between foreign and Japanese talent. These include clarifying job definitions and the talent portfolio, presenting transparent evaluation systems and career paths, improving frontline management with retention and employee success as priorities, and utilizing technical talent from across Asia, including the introduction of Vietnamese personnel. The use of a talent database containing approximately 30,000 records is another feature.
The partnership aims to promote diversity and innovation by making diverse talent a central organizational strength, rather than merely filling gaps through the employment of foreign workers. It also seeks to contribute to the sustainable growth of Japanese companies.
