ADK released the results of the 25th ADK Comprehensive Financial Survey 2026. Against a backdrop of rising prices and decision fatigue, the results show that consumers are moving toward a lighter approach to finance, with financial activities becoming more labor-saving and a clear tendency to choose life insurance independently.
ADK Marketing Solutions Inc.'s ADK Financial Category Team compiled the results of the 25th ADK Comprehensive Financial Survey 2026, covering 5,200 men and women aged 18 to 79 nationwide. The survey examined financial trends in 2026 and identified the growing prevalence of an effortless orientation.
According to the survey, against a backdrop of rising prices and decision fatigue, consumers are moving toward a more labor-saving and lighter approach to finance. Financial activities are becoming more labor-saving, while the tendency to independently assess and choose life insurance is becoming more pronounced.
The survey also found a divergence in the meaning of this trend by asset level: high-asset groups place greater importance on the labor-saving aspect, while low-income groups are shifting their emphasis toward simplification. Overall, the findings indicate that the move toward an effortless approach is progressing.
The factors cited include consumers' preference for reducing the burden of everyday decisions and a growing inclination toward self-reliance in choosing insurance. The survey emphasized that its respondents were drawn from across Japan.
