NTT Urban Development Corporation held the grand opening of Urban Net Sapporo Link Tower, which it had been constructing at the former HBC headquarters site, on 3 October 2026 and held a ceremony in the atrium on the first floor of the North Tower. The event included an unveiling ceremony by representatives of local children and remarks from related parties.
The tower comprises 2 buildings, the North Tower and South Tower. The North has 1 basement level and 26 above-ground floors, while the South has 1 basement level and 7 above-ground floors. The North houses offices, entrances, a plaza and food and beverage outlets, while the South houses the startup support facility “HooK.”
At the ceremony, President Ikeda Yasushi (池田康) expressed the view that the tower would become a place where “diverse uses, functions and people are linked, generating interaction and vibrancy.” Mayor Akimoto Katsuhiro (秋元克広) praised its potential to become a new Sapporo landmark and its zero-carbon features.
Events using the atrium space, including a market and artist live performances, were scheduled for 4 October and thereafter. Related articles also included past information on the building’s completion and grand opening.
