Sega and RGG Studio have announced their exhibition plans for TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026. The large-scale exhibit will feature a demo of the entirely new STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, a stage show, screenings of previously unreleased footage, novelty giveaways and sales of new merchandise.
RGG Studio, a subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings, has announced that it will exhibit STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, an entirely new title, at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026 (hereinafter, TGS2026). The event will be held at Makuhari Messe from 17 to 21 September. The exhibition will include a playable demo, special stages, screenings of music videos including previously unreleased footage, novelty giveaways and sales of new merchandise.
Set across 5 periods and 5 cities in Japan from 1915 to 1965, the entirely new title depicts a 50-year life story leading to the founding of the Tojo Clan. The main cast includes Yu Shirota (城田 優) and Dean Fujioka (ディーン・フジオカ), who play the two protagonists. High-action combat in which the right and left sides of the body are controlled separately, as well as the appearance of real-life celebrities, are among the title's key features.
The exhibition will be held at the Sega/Atlus booth at Hall 4-N01 (the station-side area of Hall 4 at Makuhari Messe), while the merchandise area will be located at Hall 11-W03. At the Sega/Atlus booth, visitors will be able to play a demo version adjusted and updated from the previous battle demo. Special stages held daily will feature talks with invited guests and demos involving visitors, and will be streamed on YouTube.
The theater will also screen footage including previously unreleased music videos, with 3 performances featuring characters voiced by Ado. Reservations will be required for some theater sessions, with application details scheduled to be announced on the official X account. The application period will run from 17 to 23 August. The Walkthrough Museum is an interactive exhibit themed around the 5 periods and does not require reservations. Visitors will also receive novelty giveaways. In addition, new merchandise will be sold, attendees who participate in the demo will receive special benefits, and a campaign will distribute special clear cards on a first-come, first-served basis to those who join the Discord server.
The new title will be available on PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC (Steam/Microsoft Store) and is scheduled to be offered on Xbox Game Pass from day one of its release. The release date is 15 January 2027.
