SoftBank’s KIOSTA was adopted as the MDM for centrally managing several hundred Android devices. Centered on its ease of use and the support provided by SoftBank SEs, an operating model was established covering everything from device kitting through collection and redeployment.
FLIGHT SOLUTIONS Inc. needed to manage the many Android devices deployed at customers’ stores and sites efficiently, and considered introducing an MDM and designing the operating model. It was important to select an MDM that offered a good balance of cost and functionality.
The company learned about KIOSTA at a trade show and rated it highly as an MDM for Android devices, both for its functionality and its cost. The support provided for implementation, including discussions with SoftBank SEs about preconfiguration and operating procedures, was a deciding factor in the selection.
KIOSTA’s UI is simple and easy for beginners to use, helping standardize the kitting of 300 to 400 devices. The operating design also incorporated redeployment after device collection and the separate use of initial-registration groups and production-operation groups.
Going forward, the company expects enhanced functionality to support broader operations, including hierarchical management and features for monitoring communications status. It does not envisage selling payment terminals without an MDM and will continue using KIOSTA to ensure stable operation of large-scale device deployments.
