The Nikkei 225 rebounded after 3 trading days in Tokyo trading on the 25th. It closed at ¥65,856.43, up ¥328.34 from the previous day. The decline widened in the morning, but buy-the-dip activity subsequently prevailed, sending the index higher.
On the TSE Prime Market, advancing issues accounted for more than half of the total, while trading value fell to its lowest level in 4 months. Overseas fund flows, including in Nasdaq-100 futures, also supported buying at times.
Wire and cable stocks and financial stocks rose, while Advantest and Disco were among the decliners. SoftBank Group and Ajinomoto, meanwhile, showed relatively firm performance.
With market participants also wary of short-term fund flows ahead of earnings from major US semiconductor company Nvidia on the 26th, the market overall moved mainly on buy-the-dip activity. Tokyo Stock Exchange TOPIX extended its winning streak to 4 days, while the JPX Prime 150 Index also closed higher.
