KDDI's European subsidiary, Telehouse Europe, acquired land in London for approximately ¥47.0 billion and will expand the total incoming power capacity of its data centres in the city to 65 MVA, approximately 1.8 times the current level.
On 29 October 2026, KDDI announced that Telehouse Europe had completed the acquisition of additional land adjacent to the London Docklands campus for approximately ¥47.0 billion. Following the acquisition, the incoming power capacity of the data centres it operates will reach 65 MVA, bringing total incoming power capacity in London to approximately 1.8 times the current level.
The new data centre will be developed as an extension of Telehouse West 2, leveraging 65 MVA of incoming power capacity and connectivity with the existing data centres. The new facility is expected to provide an environment capable of hosting GPU servers and supporting high-capacity, low-latency network connections.
London is an important hub, with financial institutions and exchanges concentrated there, and demand for data centres is rising as the use of AI expands. The acquisition is intended to strengthen the digital infrastructure needed to meet this demand.
Construction of the new data centre will proceed on the site, with opening targeted for fiscal 2027.
