TKP-operated hot-spring inn “Ishinoya Izu Nagaoka” has begun selling a special plan that lets guests experience a stay in the playing room used for the Meijin Go Championship. The room recreates the setting from the day of the match, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of a single game.
石のや 伊豆長岡, a hot-spring inn in Izunokuni, Shizuoka Prefecture, which hosted Game 4 of the 51st Meijin title match, has begun selling a special accommodation plan recreating the Shigaraki game room. The room is furnished in the same manner as on the day of the game, with a Go board, stones, armrests and floor cushions provided, offering guests a stay that evokes a scene from the Meijin title match.
The eligible room is Shigaraki, a Japanese suite with a hot-spring semi-open-air bath, and availability is limited to 1 room per day. A felt carpet will be laid in the approximately 105-square-meter room to recreate the atmosphere of the game room. Guests can sit around the Go board and experience the space where the players faced each other.
In addition to recreating the game-day room setup, the special accommodation plan includes dinner and breakfast, as well as meal options allowing guests to savor the lingering atmosphere of the Meijin title match outside the game room. Phase 1 runs from 15 to 31 October 2026, and Phase 2 from 1 November 2026 to 28 February 2027. The additional charge is ¥4,400 for Phase 1 and ¥2,750 for Phase 2 on top of the room rate with breakfast. Reservations are accepted through the special website and other channels.
料理 inspired by the Meijin title match will also be available as “game-day fare,” including a local-fish sashimi set meal, a tempura-bowl and soba set meal, and an assorted fruit platter. Guests are advised that the setup will not reproduce all of the equipment used on the day of the game.
