Sumitomo Mitsui Card and TOKIUM have entered into a comprehensive business partnership agreement in the corporate payments sector. The agreement aims to promote digitalization and greater efficiency by integrating business systems with payment functions in response to labor shortages and increasingly sophisticated operations.
As the first initiative under the partnership, the companies are developing the TOKIUM Business Card, a corporate card designed to integrate seamlessly with business systems, with applications targeted to open in December 2026. Infcurion’s Xard next-generation card-issuing platform is scheduled to be used to issue the cards.
Key features of the TOKIUM Business Card include one-stop processing through post-payment operations via integration with an accounting AI agent, centralized management of card usage through the TOKIUM management interface, and instant online issuance. Sumitomo Mitsui Card will handle the card-issuance operations, including credit screening.
Going forward, the companies plan to expand their collaboration into areas including accounting-focused BPO services and the automation of business processes through AI agents, strengthening comprehensive support for companies’ back-office operations.
