Research results on a fan-equipped Peltier cooling vest were presented at the annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, with effectiveness in hot environments reported through joint research with Rikkyo University and others.
DAITO TRUST CONSTRUCTION CO.,LTD. disclosed in May 2026 the research results for a fan-equipped Peltier cooling vest jointly developed with 株式会社昭和商会 and presented them at the annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine. As part of efforts to strengthen heat countermeasures, the company aims to reduce the risk of heatstroke in the field.
The study was conducted jointly with Rikkyo University and others and evaluated light exercise in a hot environment while wearing the fan-equipped cooling vest. Its distribution to approximately 1,500 site supervisors was also reported.
The tests reportedly showed reduced physiological strain, improved psychological comfort and maintained cognitive function. The research is scheduled to continue validating technologies for preventing heatstroke.
The wearing specifications have been improved, and the current design allows the vest to be worn freely either under the arms or around the neck. The cooling plate achieves a cooling surface approximately 20°C below the outdoor temperature.
