Soliton SecureDesktop was suspended following an outage at IDC Frontier's cloud service, and the backup environment on the same infrastructure also became unavailable. The policy is to proceed with rebuilding on separate infrastructure after confirming its security, and the latest update says there is still no visibility on when service will be restored.
Soliton SecureDesktop, the cloud-based remote access service provided by Soliton Systems, has experienced an outage since around 3:40 a.m. on 7 October 2026. The affected environments became unavailable because the service infrastructure could not be started. A ransomware attack by a third party on IDC Frontier's IDCF Cloud East Japan Region 1 was announced as the cause, with the affected area including customer environments using SecureDesktop Center.
According to information released on the same day, the backup servers operated on the same infrastructure as the service infrastructure also became unavailable. The stated recovery policy is to rebuild the service on separate infrastructure after confirming its security. As of Report 5, there was still no visibility on when service would be restored.
Report 5 identified 4 hostnames as the affected hosts for SecureDesktop Center. It also stated that this host information did not mean that all customers had been affected, and that the scope of availability and impact could be limited depending on the service delivery model and the scope of the impact.
IDC Frontier announced in Report 2 that the East Japan Region 1 outage was caused by a ransomware attack and has isolated the network in that region to prevent secondary damage and data leakage. As a knock-on effect, impacts were also confirmed on some systems of ポピンズグループ, with other services also affected, including an outage affecting the cloud version of Movable Type.
