Goldwin announced 3 growth strategies: “THE NORTH FACE,” “Goldwin” and its experiential business. Against the backdrop of its plans to open flagship stores in 2026 and the strengths of its Toyama base, the company presented its earnings outlook for fiscal 2027 and explained its roadmap for growing the Goldwin brand to ¥50 billion in scale.
At a corporate IR seminar, Goldwin identified “THE NORTH FACE,” “Goldwin” and its experiential business as its 3 growth strategies. For THE NORTH FACE, the company explained its policy of pursuing growth through CORE & MORE, a Japan-specific strategy, while fostering the brand over the long term and expanding its market. For Goldwin, it presented the “Goldwin500” plan to expand into global markets, building on the technology refined in Japan and the brand’s rebranding. In its experiential business, the company is expanding initiatives that provide experiences in nature and aims to open the Play Earth Park Naturing Forest nature-experience facility in Toyama in 2027.
In its historical and forecast sales and profit figures, sales for fiscal 2026 are expected to reach a record high of ¥137.5 billion and operating profit ¥25.8 billion. Ordinary profit is also expected to exceed the previous level, reflecting the impact of the equity-method investment gain or loss. The current fiscal year’s first-half outlook was revised to sales of ¥55.6 billion and operating profit of ¥4.2 billion, while the second-half and full-year forecasts remain unchanged at present.
In its market expansion and brand strategy, THE NORTH FACE does not plan to expand its directly operated store network in Japan, instead seeking to attract new customer segments by diversifying customer touchpoints, including through stronger experiential stores. Goldwin regards China as a growth driver and aims to expand in global markets through a strategy of opening flagship stores in major global cities. The experiential business seeks to enhance corporate value through a cycle of manufacturing and experience creation, including by making travel agencies subsidiaries and providing experiences in nature.
