Labol has completed the design and development of a fraud detection model for screening invoices, in collaboration with Professor Kenji Tanaka (田中 謙司) of The University of Tokyo. It aims to accelerate screening and detect forged invoices ahead of commercialization.
Labol announced that it had completed the design and development of a fraud detection model specialized for screening its invoice-purchase factoring service “labol,” which supports funding for freelancers and small and medium-sized businesses, in collaboration with Professor Kenji Tanaka (田中 謙司) of the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. The joint research began in March 2024 and has been conducted in collaboration with the Tanaka Laboratory and アルバクロス. Initiatives to improve the screening system are already under way.
The model is designed to learn the characteristics of forged invoices using AI and automatically detect suspicious information in submitted invoice data, with the aim of automating verification work previously performed manually. In preliminary testing, it detected fraudulent samples with high accuracy, and preparations are under way for commercialization and full-scale operation.
