On Kin kuru—Okinawa Friday Cruise—October edition, airing on 23 October, Shin-chan takes on a bartering challenge in the community. The feature follows the late Bunyo Ishikawa (石川文洋) and also introduces episodes from his reporting in Vietnam.
The program will feature Shin-chan’s challenge to barter goods in the segment “The Straw Millionaire Challenge in Your Community.” The focus is on where the journey of human connection, which began with the bonfire goods exchanged at the end of the previous episode in Urasoe, will lead.
The feature examines Bunyo Ishikawa (石川文洋), the Okinawa-born photojournalist who died in August, and explores, through testimony from people who knew him, the meaning of “Inochi du takara” (“Life is a treasure”), a phrase spoken around the world, including in relation to the Vietnam War and Okinawa.
It is said that at the end of the reporting trip, the team headed to Vietnam. Along with the broadcast date and time, the program explores the meaning of the words Ishikawa left behind.
